Named Endowments

In December 2003, LIVESTRONG established an Endowment with the specific purpose to help maintain long-term financial security for LIVESTRONG's programmatic goals.

The endowment provides donors with the opportunity to make gifts to LIVESTRONG that are more permanent in nature and at the same time to create a personal Named Fund in the Endowment in Honor or Memory of a loved one, a friend, or for any purpose that is aligned with our Mission. The Named Fund has perpetual recognition in our Annual Report and gifting societies. A minimum gift amount of $25,000, which may be funded over five (5) years, is required to establish a Named Fund in the Endowment. Additional funds may be added in any amount, at anytime, by anyone to the Named Fund. A Named Fund may also be accepted by the Endowment with bequest or IRA funding. In that situation the Named Fund is not recognized until the bequest or IRA funds are received.

Earnings from the Named Funds, as established by a Board approved Spending Policy are used annually to support Mission. The Named Funds are invested and managed by an independent third party investment advisor with the fiscal oversight by our LIVESTRONG Board of Directors.
