Austin, TX to Anchorage, AK
June 1 - August 9, 2013
Texas 4000 is dedicated to fighting cancer by sharing hope, knowledge and charity. We cultivate the next generation to lead the fight against cancer through our cornerstone event, a more than 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage. 70 University of Texas students will leave Austin, Texas on June 1, 2013 and will ride for about 70 days, an average of 80 miles per day, until they reach Anchorage, Alaska on August 9th. The team divides into three routes, touching thousands of lives along the way with their life-saving messages about prevention and awareness and encouraging people to contact LIVESTRONG Navigation Services for support. 100 more students have already been competitively selected for next year’s summer ride. Each student must raise $4,500, volunteer 50+ hours in the community, train 1,500 miles with their team, and attend weekly planning meetings for 18 months.

Dam That Cancer is the premier fundraising event for The Flatwater Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides access to mental health services for those in need affected by cancer. This summer, Lake Austin will provide the setting once again for the fourth annual Tyler's Dam That Cancer fundraiser. It'll be another great year for a 21-mile stand-up paddle and party on Monday, June 3, 2013.
Even if you aren’t one of the lucky paddlers in this year’s event, everyone will have the opportunity to participate and show support by attending our “We Paddle, You Party” fundraising celebration at the finish line—at the one and only Hula Hut! Everyone's invited! A donation of $100 or more will even qualify you as a Tyler's DTC-VIP! See you there!

Come spend six days on the Green River with the LIVESTRONG Foundation for a white water rafting trip you will not want to miss! Our days will be spent rafting and hiking, and we'll spend our nights around the campfire and sleeping under the stars. With more than 60 rapids, from unnamed riffles to more challenging Class III whitewater, rafting on Green River is the perfect chance to get away from it all, enjoy nature, and help the Foundation further its mission. No white water rafting experience is necessary. Registration will open in mid-March. If you are interested in registering, or if you have questions, please contact Colleen.Ofarrell@LIVESTRONG.org.
