Philly
Course Descriptions

Due to the varying difficulty of the Team LIVESTRONG Challenge courses, and in an effort maintain a high safety standard, the Team LIVESTRONG Challenge Ride support (Mechanical, Support and Gear (SAG), Medical and Course Signage) will end 8.5 hours after starting (4 p.m. in Philly). If you are still on course after 7.5 hours and on pace to not finish in 8.5 hours, you will politely be asked by our staff to allow a SAG vehicle to take you to a safe location near the finish line where you will be allowed to ride through the finish and enjoy the Post-Event Party activities

20-Mile Course
1356 feet total elevation

The 20-mile route is great for beginners, families and intermediate riders who are not quite ready for the big hills of our 45-mile route. The 20-mile course offers a few moderate hills and a chance to really stretch your legs and earn you snacks at the Post-Event Party.

45-Mile Course
3343 feet total elevation

The 45-mile course is great for riders who want the mileage but not the difficulty that is faced with the 100 and 65-mile courses. After departing Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), the ride will head west on Morris Road, and within a few miles you will be immersed in cycling paradise. Pristine road conditions, plush vegetation, historic landmarks and barns with Pennsylvania-Dutch hex symbols will line the course. You will enjoy picturesque views of Green Lane Park, and conquer the appropriately named Hill Road immediately afterwards. On the back side of the course, you will experience the rolling nature of Montgomery County before returning to a great post event party that will be waiting for you at MCCC.

65-Mile Course
4353 feet total elevation

The 65-mile course is perfect for those of you who want to go a little longer than 45, but are not quite ready for the very hilly 100-mile course yet. After departing MCCC, the ride will head west on Morris Road. The wonderful road conditions are made even better by the rich vegetation and historical landmarks that surround you, from traditional cottage homes to Pennsylvania-Dutch barns. The beauty of Green Lane Park will inspire you to power up Hill Road, as you enjoy the great views of the forest along the way. On the back side of the 65-mile course, you will experience the same rolling nature as the 45-mile course of Montgomery County before returning to the Post-Event Party at MCCC.

100-Mile Course
6901 feet total elevation

The 100-mile course will take you even further into Montgomery and Berks County. After departing MCCC, the ride will head west on Morris Road and within a few miles you will surrounded by the beauty of this historic area of the country, rich in vegetation and tradition. You will enjoy great road conditions as you ride by the gorgeous Green Lane Park and up the aptly named Hill Road. Enjoy the stunning views of the luscious forest, sprinkled here and there with classic Pennsylvania Dutch homes and barns. You will then enter Berks County and head towards the beautiful, quaint communities of Huffs Church and Dryville where you will encounter historic sites and monuments along with preserved farmlands where the likes of George Washington once camped. At mile 51, your climbing legs should be good and warm for the climb up to Landis Store where the famous Landis Store Restaurant Power Stop will be waiting.

On the backside of the course, you will experience the rolling nature of Montgomery and Berks Counties before returning to a rocking Post-Event Party at MCCC.

General Notes

  • The Team LIVESTRONG Challenge could not take place without the support and coordination of numerous local agencies such as Blue Bell PD, Montgomery Community College and PENNDot along with a wealth of local volunteers. Please obey the rules of the road and respect the local citizens who welcome this event with open arms.

  • The weather in Blue Bell is likely to be likely hot and humid. There will be Power Stops with food and hydration along with mechanical and medical support every 10-15 miles. There will also be numerous SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles along the course that will assist with your journey.

  • The Team LIVESTRONG Challenge maintains a high standard for support—we encourage all riders to utilize the available support put in place to make your journey as safe as possible.

  • Although we do not anticipate this happening, please know that courses are subject to change without notice due to weather, road construction, at the instruction of law enforcement or any other instances beyond our control.
