Dana Jay Lesnever Memorial Fund

Donor Name: Friends and Family of Dana Jay Lesnever
Established: 1/1/2010

The Dana Jay Lesnever Memorial Fund, Inc. (DJLMF) was established in 2005 for Dana, a brother, son, uncle, colleague and friend to hundreds of people who loved and admired him.

The fund is a tribute to the spirit and tenacity with which Dana fought his brain tumor, honoring his continued dedication to finding solutions for others, even after his options were exhausted.

In an effort to prevent others from losing loved ones to cancer, the DJLMF raises money to further cancer research, cure brain tumors and address issues of survivorship for those that are living with cancer.

In 2000, Dana completed the 100-mile ride for the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Ride for the Roses. After his glioblastoma diagnosis in 2003, Dana conceived "Project Beat Glioblastoma" as an effort to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and survivorship issues once again.

As a major component of Dana's project the first Golf Outing was held in 2004, initiated and organized by his colleagues from work. That year, 60 golfers took to the course to help Dana achieve his goal. With another 60 guests joining the effort at dinner, Dana saw his initial hopes for "Project Beat Glioblastoma" double.

Through the generous donations of family and friends, Dana was able to reach the highest, "Yellow Jersey" fundraising level for the 2004 Ride for the Roses.

Since Dana's passing, his family and friends have continued Dana's work through the DJLMF. Since 2005, annual golf benefit events have been held in his memory, bringing people together for a day of remembrance and action.
