I am a cancer survivor.  Thanks to early discovery and aggressive treatment I have been proud and lucky to call myself a survivor for 19 years.  But I had to fight for that early diagnosis and aggressive treatment by reading everything I could, studying and pushing my doctors. Not everyone has the resources to fight like I did.

And this summer the fight got a bit more personal.   My sister who was just 2.5 yrs post her own cancer diagnosis had a metastasis to her liver, lungs and bones.  She died just 6 weeks afer this re-diagnosis. It's important to help people like her get through the time they have in the best way possible.

LIVESTRONG is about survivorship. It is about supporting people diagnosed with ca ncer and helping them to make their way through life and through the disease.LIVESTRONG provides support to those diagnosed with all types of cancer.  The money I raise supports LIVESTRONG’s programs and services that help people face the challenges of cancer, head on, and live life on their own terms.

I look forward to going through a year without knowing someone who is newly diagnosed with cancer. But I don’t remember the last year that has happened, and already I know 2014 won’t be the year.  So your support continues to be important.

The money I raise will support programs and services for cancer survivors. These resources help people diagnosed with cancer face the challenges of the disease head on and live life on their own terms. Please support me as I make a difference in the cancer fight through my participation in Team LIVESTRONG.

Thank you again for your support!
