We fight to improve the lives of people affected by cancer
Dear Friends & Family,
On April 13, 2014, one of my closest friends, Melissa Stewart, and I are running the 2014 London Marathon in support of the LIVESTRONG Foundation and the 32.5 million cancer survivors around the world.
As the miles grow in our training and we are closer to the Marathon, I draw upon strength and courage from some of the toughest cancer survivors that I know:
Grandma Dolores, Papa Ken, Michael Elsner, Carol Pullin, Walt Elsner, Nick Fletcher, Bobby Hitt, Kate Voth, Jimmy Fowkes, Chuck Wadey, Helen Knost, Ron Kolenic, Cory Monzingo, Renee Nicholas, Jean Cohen, Ruth Rechis-Oelker, Larry McGoldrick, Patrick Rastelli, Doug Ulman, Chris Brewer and many more.
For the past 7 years, I have been fortunate to work for an organization that keeps the voice of cancer survivors at the center of everything that we do. From providing free, one-on-one cancer support, to partnering with the YMCA to create a physical fitness program focused on post-treatment cancer survivors, to funding millions of dollars in evidence-based grants to communities around the United States, I’m incredibly proud of the work that I’ve been able to be a part of over the years.
Thank you so much for considering a donation to the LIVESTRONG Foundation. If you are unable to donate, I ask for your thoughts and prayers on April 13, 2014 as we run 26.2 miles in honor of all those who have bravely fought this dreadful disease.
If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, call 866.673.7205 or visit LIVESTRONG.org/cancersupport. LIVESTRONG offers one-on-one support to help them face the challenges of cancer head-on.
