We fight to improve the lives of people affected by cancer
I would again like to thank all my family, friends and colleagues who supported
me in my efforts in the 2013 Philly LIVESTRONG Challenge last August. I was
able to complete the 50 mile bicycle ride and beat my fundraising goal. Your
generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
This is to ask for your support again this year.
The upcoming 2014 Philly LIVESTRONG Challenge will be my 7th year participating in
the event. As in years past, in memory of my mother Theresa, I will be riding
my bike 60 miles on August 17th. Over 30 years ago, my mother fought a
brave battle against cancer. Although she eventually lost the battle, her
courage remains my greatest inspiration in life. During the years she fought
cancer, she never stopped being our loving mother, a devoted wife to our dad
and a caring nurse.
I will also be dedicating my ride in memory of friends who in recent years have
lost their battle with cancer. I will also ride in honor family and friends who
are brave cancer survivors.
The money I raise will
support programs and services for cancer survivors. Remember that since their inception, LIVESTRONG
has raised more than $500 million dollars for the fight against cancer and 82%
of those funds have gone directly to support our programs and services for
survivors - Education, Grants and Advocacy. These resources help
people diagnosed with cancer face the challenges of the disease head on and
live life on their own terms.
remain committed the goals of the LIVESTRONG Foundation. I am a long time
participant in the Philly Challenge and have been a LIVESTRONG Leader for three
years. LIVESTRONG was never about one man - It’s about the millions affected by cancer. The Foundation empowers inividuals to take
action against this disease that is now the world's leading cause of death.
Please support me as I
make a difference in the cancer fight through my participation in Team
you and LIVESTRONG,
