More on Philly

The LIVESTRONG Challenge start/finish line returns to Montgomery County Community College, located about 30 minutes from downtown Philly. Though specific event routes are still being confirmed, the longer cycling routes will head west through Montgomery County, which is home to some of the most scenic and cycle-friendly roads in the country.

Things to see and do
Welcome to Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy and the City of Brotherly Love. Whether you're a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, there's plenty to do and see in William Penn's hometown. Spend a day traveling back in time to Revolution-era America by touring some of America's historic icons such as the Liberty Bell and Constitution Hall.  And speaking of revolutionary, MP3 guided tours allow you go at your own pace.  Or stick with the historic theme and go with a traditional costumed guide. When you're done, be sure to indulge in Philly's hometown hero (we're talking sandwich here folks) and sample a real Philly cheesesteak.  It's okay, you'll work it off on Sunday.

Get up close and personal with America's past as you take a last-minute training ride or a leisurely walk or jog through beautiful Valley Forge National Historic Park.  The 3,600-acre park -  where General George Washington prepared his Continental Army for battle - boasts miles of rolling hills and lush flora for a picturesque work-out.  Bring the family, as bike rentals are available on-site. If you want a more informed visit, the National Park Service features everything from self-guided tours to mini-bus trips and costumed storytellers.

History not your thing? No worries.  Philly is also home to great shopping (did we mention there's no sales tax on clothes and shoes!) and world-class art museums. Make like Rocky and run up the 72 steps leading to the Philadelphia Museum of Art east entrance. After you've taken your victory lap, head inside for a peak at the museum's outstanding collections (with 225,000 objets d'art on display, you might want to pack a lunch. Cheesesteak, anyone?).  Or head over to Manayunk, Philly's funkiest neighborhood offering unique boutiques, art galleries and a myriad of local restaurants.  There are plenty of shops to choose from (29 major shopping centers in the greater metropolitan area) including the mother of all malls:  The King of Prussia Mall, located in nearby Montgomery County, is the largest one in the country.
