LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH CANCERCARE
FOR
LIVESTRONG SURVIVORCARE PROGRAM
SurvivorCare to Provide Direct Assistance to People
Living With, Through and Beyond Cancer

AUSTIN, Texas - December 2, 2004 - The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) announced today its new outreach program, LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare, a combination of the LIVESTRONG education program and CancerCare's own social services. CancerCare is a leading cancer support organization that provides free professional help to people living with cancer.

The partnership, launched last May, is designed to help people face the everyday challenges of living with cancer, and past treatment, through education, qualified referrals and counseling services.

"More than 4,000 cancer survivors have contacted our LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare program and have been helped by CancerCare 's outstanding social services," said Tiffany Galligan, Associate Director of LIVESTRONG at the Lance Armstrong Foundation. "CancerCare is a very valuable partner in our effort to help people with cancer live strong."

"For 60 years, CancerCare's mission has been to help people with the many challenges of the disease. Now that so many more people are facing life after treatment is completed, we recognize the important psychosocial needs of this population," said Diane Blum, MSW, executive director of CancerCare. "We are delighted to be working with the Lance Armstrong Foundation as they are leading advocates for the concerns of cancer survivors."

Through LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare, the LAF and CancerCare are able to provide cancer survivors and their families with the physical, emotional and practical information they need before, during and after cancer treatment. Challenges cancer survivors often face include fear of recurrence, sadness and depression, late and long-term side effects, infertility and health insurance problems. Cancer survivors and their loved ones may utilize LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare to speak to a professional oncology social worker about their questions and concerns.
