LAF AND OLN HOST "THE BIGGEST TOUR DE FRANCE PARTY OF THE YEAR"
Cheer for Lance and Support People Living With Cancer at Viewing Parties in 14 Cities
AUSTIN, Texas - July 14, 2004 - The Outdoor Life Network (OLN) has partnered with the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and partners across the nation to host the CYCLISM Experience, "The Biggest Tour de France Viewing Party of the Year." Fans, LAF supporters and cancer survivors are encouraged to attend local events to show their support for Lance and the LAF.
Parties in 14 cities throughout the U.S. will track exciting daily coverage of the Tour from July 5 to July 25. Cycling fans will enjoy interactive games, prize giveaways, cocktails, trivia contests and the action of the Tour on the big screen. Some events will also include organized community cycling rides, barbeques and presentations by speakers.
OLN will host events in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Hampton Roads, VA, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, CA, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., in collaboration with its marketing company, Synergy Group.
Members of the LAF's Peloton Project will attend the events, where they will recruit members and raise funds for the LAF. Peloton Project members will present those who attend each event with exclusive Live Strong coasters in exchange for their contributions. The OLN is also offering its support to members who want to host parties in their own cities. Funds will benefit LAF programs that help people with cancer live strong.
