DREAM BIG, PLAY HARD, LIVE STRONG
LAF Adds Kid-Friendly, Family Event to Ride for the Roses Schedule

AUSTIN, Texas — September 30, 2004 — The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) invites the LAF’s youngest supporters and their families to participate in Live Strong Kids, a new, family-oriented attraction, that is part of this year’s Ride for the Roses Weekend.

The event will commence with a one-mile family walk followed by several fun, kid-friendly activities around Auditorium Shores. Kids can stop by the LAF booth and send a Live Strong postcard to a young person with cancer or serve lemonade at Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Kids will also have the opportunity to take a picture with a cartoon version of Lance and author Anna Schwartz will be on hand to give a presentation about cancer fitness.

In addition, there will be a fun and games area with relay races, face painting and a free play zone. Other activities include a hockey goal challenge with Fang and the Austin Ice Bats, bicycle safety tips from the Bike Safety Rodeo and a scavenger hunt followed by a yellow Jell-O food fight.

The Live Strong Kids Event will take place from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas. Check-in for the walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. The event will be free of charge and is open to all Peloton members, as well as the Austin community. Please note that all participants will be required to register with the LAF no later than Monday, October 4, 2004.
