LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES MEMBERSHIP
TO THE NATIONAL HEALTH COUNCIL

AUSTIN, Texas - September 29, 2005 - The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) is proud to announce its recent membership to the National Health Council (NHC), a recognized leader in promoting the health of all people by advancing the voluntary health movement.  The LAF recently reached full compliance with the NHC's Standards of Excellence, which are closely aligned with the Standards for Charitable Accountability adopted by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance.

NHC members must maintain the highest standards of organizational effectiveness and public stewardship.  Adherence to these standards signifies an unswerving commitment to the highest levels of public accountability and organizational effectiveness.  This type of dedication helps to position voluntary health agencies as the most trusted and respected sectors of the non-profit community.

"By meeting these standards of excellence in the areas of governance, personnel policies, programs, finance, fundraising, accounting, reporting and evaluation, we are moving closer to achieving best practices in all areas of the Foundation," said Dennis Cavner, chairman of the LAF.

The LAF joins nationally recognized organizations such as the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Lupus Foundation of America and Easter Seals as a member of the NHC and one of the nation's most trusted health organizations.
