PAST LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION CHAIR RECEIVES OUTSTANDING PHILANTHROPIST AWARD
Association of Fundraising Professionals Recognize E. Lee Walker and Jennifer Vickers for Charitable Efforts in Central Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - November 10, 2005 - The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Austin Chapter recently recognized past chair of the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) E. Lee Walker and Jennifer Vickers as outstanding philanthropists in central Texas.

The AFP honored Walker and Vickers for their avid support of the LAF since the Foundation's inception in 1997. Walker was chair of the LAF board of directors from 2003 to 2005 and currently serves as past chairman and member of the executive committee.

As early members of the LAF's Founder's Circle, which is comprised of members who have a strong personal belief in the Foundation's success, Walker and Vickers' gift of $500,000 helped provide the essential infrastructure enabling the LAF to become one of the fastest growing and most respected non-profit organizations in the country.

The AFP acknowledged Walker's ability to challenge the LAF's board and staff to develop innovative ideas and is credited with helping create the LAF's nationally recognized LIVESTRONG™ Resource for Cancer Survivors.

Walker and Vickers will be formally recognized in January at the AFP's 16th Annual Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, at which nearly 1,000 central Texas leaders will celebrate those who support the causes of the community's charitable organizations.
