LIVESTRONG Summit Gets in Gear
The 2006 LIVESTRONG™ Summit is in full swing! Greeted by sunny skies and mild temperatures 700 delegates arrived in Austin ready to get to action.
We sat down with Cindi Hart as she waited to board a bus from the airport and asked her what she intended to get out of the Summit. Listen to her thoughts HERE. (600k WAV file)

As the summiteers arrived at the Austin Convention Center things were in full swing with registration. An inspiring surprise awaited them as the doors opened to begin the Summit.
Eight cancer survivors came out on stage, each dressed in yellow and black to tell a little about their stories — stories of doubt, fear and loss. But as their knowledge and power grew, their stories changed to those of advocacy, leadership and empowerment. "I am going to live my life on my terms," said two-year prostate cancer survivor Ron Kolenic as the crowd cheered and the music swelled.
The final phrase, "We're a nation of 10 million cancer survivors — LIVESTRONG!" earned a standing ovation. Lance Armstrong walked out to greet the crowd, humbly noting, "I'm Lance and I'm a 10-year testicular cancer survivor." There were hugs and high-fives all around and the first-ever LIVESTRONG Summit was officially on the move.
…More soon from downtown Austin….
