LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION GIVES BACK TO THE AUSTIN COMMUNITY
LAF Participates in Read Across America at Local School

AUSTIN, Texas - March 2, 2006 - Today, Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) president and chief executive officer Mitch Stoller read a book about Lance to 50 pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at Norman Elementary School in Austin, Texas.

Stoller was one of approximately 25 community leaders in Austin who participated in the National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America program that motivates children to integrate reading into their daily activities.

"The LAF believes that knowledge is power, and helping to promote daily reading among children encourages enjoyment and learning opportunities," Stoller said.  "We were delighted to join other local community leaders in this national program and to give back to the city that has given us so much."

The Read Across America program is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on or around Dr. Seuss's birthday. Read Across America also provides NEA members, parents, caregivers and children resources and activities to help encourage daily reading among children.
