LIVESTRONGTM Portfolios from American Century Investments
Fund Series Helps Investors Take Control of Finances While Supporting the Lance Armstrong Foundation
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - May 15, 2006 - American Century Investments today introduced a series of asset allocation funds that provide investors with a convenient way to take control of their finances, while supporting the mission of the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. Called LIVESTRONGTM Portfolios from American Century Investments, the funds are designed to offer a comprehensive investment solution based on a specific time horizon or goal.
The management company of American Century will financially support the LAF, and investors in LIVESTRONG Portfolios can influence that support. Every dollar invested in LIVESTRONG Portfolios will help determine the amount American Century's management company will pay to the LAF above a guaranteed amount.
"Our primary goal is to design a well-balanced investment solution offering investors the opportunity to set investment goals and stay on course to achieve them," said Jeffrey Tyler, American Century senior vice president and senior portfolio manager of the funds. "It's especially gratifying to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation and have a direct impact on cancer survivors."
In addition to Tyler, an investment professional at American Century for the past 19 years, the portfolio management team for LIVESTRONG Portfolios includes Irina Torelli, who joined the company in 1997. Tyler and Torelli also oversee American Century's other asset allocation funds: three Strategic Allocation funds, the five One Choice Portfolios and multiple target-date portfolios available through the Kansas Learning Quest 529 Education Savings Program.
LIVESTRONGTM Portfolio 2015, 2025, 2035 and 2045 are target-date funds designed to reallocate from a capital appreciation focus to a more conservative focus as the target date approaches. A fifth fund - LIVESTRONG Income Portfolio - is for retirement investors seeking current income with some growth potential. It is expected to have a fixed asset mix over time.
The underlying American Century funds used in LIVESTRONG Portfolios represent various asset classes, styles and capitalization ranges. The allocation mix for the five portfolios invests in up to 14 different funds and provides exposure to specialty strategies such as real estate, emerging markets, international bonds and inflation-indexed bonds.
American Century created LIVESTRONG Portfolios by enhancing its existing My Retirement Portfolios, a series of asset allocation funds first launched in August 2004. While the modified funds have the same fee structure and investment strategy as My Retirement Portfolios, the underlying funds in LIVESTRONG Portfolios will not invest in tobacco companies as part of American Century's commitment to the LAF and the fight against cancer.
Total expenses for LIVESTRONG Portfolios vary by portfolio and are comparable to the cost investors would bear if they constructed a portfolio of the underlying funds themselves. Also, the funds have a multiple share class structure including Investor, Institutional, R and Advisor Class shares. For example, below are estimated expenses for the Investor Class:

About American Century's Collaboration with Lance Armstrong
In February 2006, American Century Investments announced it had entered into a multi-year collaboration with cancer survivor and cyclist Lance Armstrong to encourage investors to take a more active role in planning their financial futures. Like Armstrong, American Century founder James Stowers Jr. is a cancer survivor. Both men have made a substantial commitment to improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer - Armstrong through the work of the LAF and Stowers through the creation of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a world-class biomedical research facility based in Kansas City, Mo. Founded in 1994 by Stowers and his wife Virginia, the Institute conducts basic research aimed at finding answers to some of the most important questions of human biology, health and disease.
