LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION JOINS MILLIONS IN REMEMBERING DANA REEVE

AUSTIN - March 7, 2006 - The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF), which is dedicated to inspiring and empowering people affected by cancer, was deeply saddened to learn of Dana Reeve's death due to lung cancer.

"On behalf of Lance and the entire staff and volunteers of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, I extend our deepest sympathies to Dana's family, friends and the millions of people she touched through her work to find a cure for paralysis and more recently through her example as a cancer survivor," said Mitch Stoller, president and CEO of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.  "Dana's death is yet another painful reminder of the insidious nature of this disease, which continues to take the lives of far too many people.  The Lance Armstrong Foundation is committed to eliminating the suffering caused by cancer and we intend to honor Dana's life - and the lives of countless others who have lost their battle - by continuing the fight."

A gracious yet tenacious fighter, Reeve, 44, was an inspiration to millions as she supported her late husband, Christopher Reeve, who was paralyzed in 1995 after a horse riding accident.  Despite her own cancer diagnosis and grueling treatment regimen, Dana continued to campaign for research and treatment for spinal cord injuries and to raise awareness for cancer issues.
