One of the goals of the LAF is to improve the quality of life of people living with cancer. By funding research, community programs and public education and outreach efforts, the LAF is making positive advances in the issues that matter most to survivors and their families.  See how the LAF is making progress in your state.

National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship
Developed for the public health community by LAF and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship: Advancing Public Health Strategies helps health organizations, physicians and caregivers understand and address survivorship needs.

Research Program
The LAF Research Program encourages and supports the efforts of both established investigators and young investigators in the early stages of their research career.  Since inception, the LAF has awarded more than $14.4 million in research grants.

LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network
The LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence Network advances the concept of survivorship through collaboration.  Network members provide essential direct survivorship services and address critical issues such as research and new interventions in order to provide the most effective survivorship care.

Community Program
Through its Community Program, the LAF awards planning, implementation and evolution grants to community, non-profit organizations to serve the needs of people living with cancer as identified by the National Action Plan.

Young Adult Alliance
The Alliance is a group of committed individuals and organizations who have come together to effect positive changes in clinical care, survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer.

National Partnerships
To help meet the needs of people living with cancer, LAF National Partnerships offer a coordinated, comprehensive approach to cancer survivorship that is aligned with the priorities established in the National Action Plan. Through the program, the LAF identifies, evaluates and forms long-term cooperative agreements with national non-profit organizations, which leverage the strengths and resources of both organizations.
