National Partnerships

To help meet the needs of people affected by cancer, our national partnerships program offers a coordinated, comprehensive approach that is aligned with the priorities established in the National Action Plan for Cancer Survivorship: Advancing Public Health Strategies.

Our national partnerships increase the visibility of cancer survivorship issues and enhance the public health infrastructure surrounding survivorship. We identifiy, evaluate and form long-term, cooperative agreements with partner organizations, which leverage the strengths and resources of both organizations. Together, we address the physical, emotional and practical challenges of cancer.

While our community program attempts to impact survivors in a direct and personal way by enhancing service delivery at the community level, our national partnerships program attempts to create systemic change in the cancer community.

These efforts may take the form of a new, evidence-based direct service program that can be replicated throughout the country, an educational program for health care professionals nationwide or a comprehensive policy initiative that provides local advocacy tools.
