How do I set up a fundraising page for my LIVESTRONG Day event?

You can set up an online grassroots fundraising page by visiting http://www.livestrong.org/grassroots2008. Choose "Host/Hold an Event" and use the username and password from your confirmation email to auto fill the form to properly credit your account.

What support materials are included in my event organizer kit?

In your event organizer kit you will receive LAF brochures and LIVESTRONG wristbands to pass out at your event, a LIVESTRONG banner, a LIVESTRONG DVD compilation video to show at your event, and a donation envelope with pledge forms and instructions for collecting donations at your event and getting them back to the LAF.

When should I receive my event organizer kit?

If you live in the United States you should receive your event organizer kit within four weeks of your registration date.

If I am hosting an international event, will I still receive an event organizer kit?

Yes! However, due to the amount of time it takes to ship packages internationally, we cannot guarantee that it will arrive before May 13. You can expect you event organizer kit within 4-6 weeks.

What should I do as a LIVESTRONG Day event organizer?

LIVESTRONG Day is about doing something to make a difference in the fight against cancer in a way that is meaningful and comfortable to you. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for the cancer fight and to show support for people affected by cancer.

On May 13th 2008, activities of all shapes and sizes will take place across the country in support of cancer survivors and their loved ones. Each LIVESTRONG Day activity is being organized by a volunteer who decided to make a difference in his or her community.

Anyone, anywhere can organize a LIVESTRONG Day bake sale, bike ride, potluck dinner, Wear Yellow Day or ask the mayor or governor to declare May 13th LIVESTRONG Day in your community.

Why is the LAF not having an event in Washington, D.C., this year?

The foundation has decided to shift our focus from lobbyists and legislators in Washington, D.C. to everyday people in their local communities. We believe that the power to fuel change must start at the local level to make cancer a national priority. That is why this year we will not be hosting an event on Capitol Hill this year.

When is the deadline to register my event?

You can register your event up until LIVESTRONG Day on May 13. However, to receive an event organizer kit, you must register your event by May 1.

Will the LAF reimburse costs associated with organizing a LIVESTRONG Day event?

The LAF is unable to provide financial assistance for costs associated with organizing your LIVESTRONG Day event.

Requests are made by filling out the Partners in Hope application online at www.livestrong.org/partnersinhope; however, not all qualified requestors will receive a signed item.
