Advocate at the National Level

We sponsor national advocacy initiatives to help the voice of the cancer community be heard on Capitol Hill.

By educating lawmakers and the public, we raise awareness about the health policy issues facing cancer survivors and their loved ones.

Unite with us and call for:

  • Increased funding for federal cancer survivorship programs
  • Increased access to quality care
  • Reduced disparities in treatment

Increased Funding for Federal Cancer Survivorship Programs

Each year more people are surviving cancer, but federal spending on cancer survivorship programs is not keeping pace.

The Administration's most recent budget proposal featured flat funding for most federal cancer programs at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We support efforts to provide federal cancer survivorship programs at NCI and CDC with the necessary resources and increased funding.

Increased Access to Quality Care

Quality care includes access to quality treatment, effective pain and symptom management and quality end-of-life services.

Every cancer patient should have timely access to the latest and most effective treatments including clinical trials, if appropriate.

We support efforts like the Patient Navigator Outreach and Chronic Disability Prevention Act to identify and address cancer survivorship needs and improve the overall experience and quality of life of people living with cancer.

Reduced Disparities in Treatment

Cancer treatment is complex. It differs from person to person based on a patient's specific situation and individual needs.

Many cancer survivors face economic and insurance barriers in accessing proper health care. The treatment needs of un-insured and underinsured survivors often go unmet.

We support policies that help all cancer survivors access appropriate treatment and services in a timely manner.
