LIVESTRONG: A PODCAST SERIES FOR YOUNG ADULTS WITH CANCER
LIVESTRONG: A Podcast Series for Young Adults with Cancer is a reminder that you are not alone in your fight against cancer. Hear firsthand from other adolescent and young adult cancer survivors as they share their experiences and advice about a wide variety of cancer-related issues and concerns. Each episode focuses on a specific topic you need to know to live life on your own terms, no matter where you are in your cancer experience.
Each video is 5 – 7 minutes long and relays important information about common physical, emotional and practical concerns. Shared through the experiences and insight of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors, every topic addresses the unique needs of young adults with cancer. Many topics also include a list of action items that survivors can consider to address their concerns, as well as a list of cancer-related organizations survivors can contact for additional support.

Body Changes (4:43)
Allan Goldberg helps you understand some of the physical changes you may experience as a result of cancer or its treatment. He and other cancer survivors share their stories to help show how to remain confident as you experience and manage changes in your body.
Dating & Sexuality (5:34)
Tamika Felder, Founder of Tamika & Friends, a non-profit organization that raises awareness of cervical cancer and the link with HPV, helps you understand how cancer and its treatment can physically and emotionally affect your sexuality. Additionally, hear from other survivors about how to discuss your experience with your partner or when entering a new relationship.

Kris Carr, director, producer and subject of The Learning Channel (TLC) documentary film "Crazy Sexy Cancer," shares her insights on the importance of good nutrition and exercise. She and other cancer survivors explain how healthy behaviors can help your body to heal from cancer and its treatment.

Doug Ulman, President and CEO of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and Brock Yetso, Executive Director of the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, join other cancer survivors in explaining how relationships with friends and family may change throughout your cancer experience, and how maintaining an emotional support system can help you manage the challenges you face at any stage of survivorship.
Fear of Dying (6:38)
At some point in their cancer experience, the possibility of death is something that many cancer survivors will face. Listen to Heidi Adams, Founder and Executive Director of Planet Cancer, and other survivors talk about facing the possibility of death head-on and how holding on to hope can help you approach survivorship with strength and confidence.
Fear of Recurrence (6:52)
Fear of recurrence, the concern that cancer will come back after treatment, is common among survivors. Although having some concerns about recurrence is natural, too much worrying can affect your quality of life. Cancer survivor Julian Paulino and others talk about how facing your concerns about recurrence can help you feel more confident and secure about survivorship.
Fertility (4:57)
Chuck Wadey, who was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma at 26, and his wife, Amber, discuss the concerns both male and female cancer survivors face about the potential inability to have children due to the effects of cancer treatment. Hear from the Wadeys and other cancer survivors about the importance of considering your risk for infertility and the steps you can take before treatment to preserve your fertility.

Although palliative care was once more commonly associated with end of life, the goal of palliative care is to relieve physical, emotional and practical concerns at all stages of illness. Tamika Felder, a young adult cervical cancer survivor, helps you understand what palliative care is, while the shared experiences of other survivors explains how this type of care help you improve your quality of life at any stage of survivorship.

One of the many issues young cancer survivors face is the ability to continue their education during treatment. Johnathon Bueno, who was diagnosed at age 14, and other survivors talk about how you can work with teachers, the education system, and physicians to help maintain a sense of normalcy during your treatment and stay on track in your studies.
Work (5:24)
Dan Waeger, diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer at 22, talks about important workplace issues, including insurance and discrimination. His insights and those of other survivors help you understand how to continue working during and after cancer treatment, as well as how to address your concerns about being treated differently in your place of employment because of your cancer diagnosis or medical history.
