In June of 2014, Livestrong held an unprecedented gathering of over 80 stakeholders in Austin, Texas. The task: share their insight and expertise on designing a new approach to treating cancer – Patient Centered Cancer Care (PCCC).
From doctors to patients, nurses to caregivers, advocates to administrators, and community leaders to non-profit organizations, they all came together to help chart the path forward for this new model of care where the patients are the focus, as are their needs, values and preferences. This report details the outcomes of this Symposium and shared the 23 Essential Building Blocks for Delivering PCCC.
