A couple of weeks ago, we launched the 2017 LIVESTRONG Survey. This year, we are focusing on fertility concerns of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors.

While 40-80% of women and 30-75% of men diagnosed with cancer during their reproductive years will be at risk of infertility, less than 50% of patients recall discussing fertility risks with their health care team.

This survey will help us learn about:

  • Whether patients are being informed about potential fertility risks due to a cancer diagnosis and/or related treatments;
  • Whether they are receiving the necessary education and access to resources to make informed decisions about fertility preservation;
  • The quality of their provider’s communication about fertility risks; and
  • Why they do or do not choose to preserve their fertility before or after treatment.

This survey will be targeted to anyone diagnosed with cancer during ages 15-39 years between 2006-present in the US.

We need your help! To ensure that we hear from all cancer survivors who are eligible to take the survey, we would greatly appreciate if you would share the survey link through social media. Here are some sample posts:
