I have a big brother named Sean T. Walsh. In 2008 our family came together to fight when Sean was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He was faced with aggressive treatment immediately and he had the "bring it on" attitude from the start. He was operated on in early 2009 and healed remarkably. A dear friend and classmate of Sean's, Christine Kircher Albanese, was very active with LiveSTRONG and I decided I wanted to run my first 5K for Sean. Well, he insisted that he run with me. I was in shock but at the same time, I never doubted that he should be there. He ran across the survivor finish line.
My brother ran out of time to fight but he fought like hell. He's a part of everything I do, I guess he always was. I ran our same route alone last year and I'm about to do it again. I will always run to fight for him.
