My story starts off by deciding to run the Austin Marathon in 2009. I returned to Austin in 2011 to run the LIVESTRONG Austin Marathon and in that same year I completed the MVP Health Care Rochester Marathon which benefitted the Arthritis Foundation. In 2012 I ran the North Face Endurance Challenge, a 50 kilometer trail run in Washington D.C. In December of that year I ran the Fiesta Marathon in my hometown of South Texas. In 2013 I returned to Austin to run the LIVESTRONG Half-Marathon with my sister. In 2005 one of my beloved aunts passed away due to breast cancer. Over the years I have met many people who have either known someone with cancer or are battling a fight against cancer. For this very reason I have decided to run the 2014 Austin Marathon. Please consider donating to our cause and help the LIVESTRONG Team which is running the 2014 Austin Marathon to support the fight against cancer by raising funds and showing everyone that we will never stop till there is a cure!
"It's an extraordinary feeling once you cross the marathon's finish line, but to say that you did it with a purpose that changes the lives of others is not something that everyone can say". -Juan Aguinaga
